The Massif du Sancy is a hiker's paradise: 730km of marked trails with stupendous landscapes and natural beauty preserved in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of the Auvergne Volcanoes.

> The Grandes Randonnées (Great trails)
'Grande randonnée' (GR) trails criss-cross the Puy de Sancy, including the GR30, which circles around 15 volcanic lakes and the GR4, High Plateaux and Auvergne Mountains.

> The Petites Randonnées (Short trails)
Over 670km of 'Petite Randonnée' trails, accessible to all, for rambles lasting from 1 to 6 hours; a chance to discover waterfalls, streams, landscapes and views of the volcanoes.

These paths are specially marked and signposted with detailed maps of the local area located at each crossroads.

Qualified mountain guides can offer themed hikes.
