On the 3rd Saturday in January, Saint Cochon perpetuates this tradition in an XXL version in the streets of Besse. The motto of this Auvergne institution: La Saint-Cochon, c'est l'Art du Lard !

For over 30 years, you've been able to find the perfect match between wine and cheese in the streets of the medieval town of Besse. Producers from all over France will be on hand to offer tastings. 09 La Bavajade in Besse et Saint-Anastaise
In dialect, the Bavajade means the killing of the rooster to celebrate the end of haymaking. Every 2 years since 1999, the village of Besse has organized the Bavajade, a carnival-like event where elected officials, locals and tourists alike celebrate! Cabaret, plays, music and a hearty meal, with rooster always on the menu!
