Étape 1 : From the signpost behind the cemetery, turn left of the house. Ignore the right-hand track and turn right at the next intersection (view of Murol castle, Puy de Dôme, Croix Morand pass and Sancy). Continue to the right along the tarmac road, turn left on the downhill path, leaving a track on the left, then turn left at the next one; follow it to the Courbanges stream.
Étape 2 : Take the footbridge and turn left twice in succession, climbing steeply through the forest to reach a wide track; turn right (with a view of the Monts Dore) towards the village of Courbanges. Cross the D36, take the road opposite and continue straight ahead at the crossroads. At the end of the road, turn left, cross the stream and enter the Courbanges forest. At the fork in the road, turn left into the clearing, where it intersects with a forest lane.
Étape 3 : Go straight ahead, ignoring a track on the right, then another on the left, and turn left at the end of the wood. Follow the edge of the wood for part of the way to the D36. Cross the road and go straight ahead until you reach an intersection.
Étape 4 : Turn right downhill. Take the next right (view of the Forez and Livradois mountains and the Puy de Dôme). At the fork, turn right and continue towards Saint-Victor-La-Rivière. As you enter the village of Le Breuil, turn right and then left at the crossroads. Follow the road back to the starting point.
