The walk around Lake Pavin in Besse is an easy 2.7-kilometer hike that takes you on a journey to discover the most mysterious lake in Auvergne.

In the heart of the beech forest that surrounds the lake, this roughly 1-hour walk is worth the detour in any season, thanks to both the shades of the water and the colors of the forest.
In addition to the shaded walk, don’t miss the beautiful views of the Sancy Massif, especially the Puy de la Perdrix.

Étape 1 : Walk up the road to the plaza. Take the path on the right along the lake. Follow the trail.

Étape 2 : Turn left. Continue straight ahead. Follow the trail and continue straight ahead.

Étape 3 : Viewpoint on your left. Caution: slippery ground.

Étape 4 : Turn left. On the right, an alternate route to the lake viewpoint (round trip). Continue straight ahead.
