Étape 1 : From the start sign at Place de la Fontaine, follow Rue des Forges; after the bridge, turn left onto Chemin du Moulin, which runs alongside the stream, cross the bridge and continue along the mountainside road (with views of Chambon-sur-Lac and the lake). At the hamlet of Les Angles, turn left, then right. At the crossroads on leaving the village, take the track opposite (cross) as far as the road (view of Murol castle and lake).

Étape 2 : Go left for 300 m and leave the road by the first track on the left. Before reaching the tarmac section, turn left and descend to Voissière (view of the Chaudefour valley), ignoring the paths on the left as far as the D637 road.

Étape 3 : Go straight ahead for 300 m, take the grassy path on the right for 100 m, then the one on the left which enters the undergrowth. Follow this path as it rises steeply. At the intersection, fork right (steep climb). At the end of Bois du Bac, continue left along the edge of the plateau to the road.

Étape 4 : Follow the road to the left for 30 m and, opposite the Ruche Auvergnate, take the path to the left (view of the puys, the Voissière plain, the Couze de Chaudefour). Ignore the track on the right and, at the crossroads, head downhill. At the intersection, turn right and cross the ru (view of the Sancy massif).
