The village is located in the south of Artense, between the Massif du Sancy and Monts Cantal, with heights of 858m (2814 ft.) and 1056m (3464 ft.). The plateau of Artense offers an alternating of pastures, wetlands, rocks and lakes.

The village is surrounded by lakes: lac de Laspialade, lac de La Landie, lac de Lastiouilles, and lac de la Crégut. It is a paradise for hikers, fishermen, swimmers and nautical activities.

The village of Saint-Genès-Champespe, with its lakes, forests and mountains, is ideal for hiking and mountain biking.

Saint-Genès-Champespe is on the GR30 Auvergne's lakes tour (long distance route, white and red marking) ideal for exploring the lac de Laspialade and lac de la Crégut.

Built heritage of Saint-Genès-Champespe

Have a walk in the village of Saint-Genès-Champespe and go up to the church of Saint-Sébastien, built in 1907.

In front of the church, you can admire the Salers cow "Artense", a bronze sculpture by the artist Patrick Mouvet.
