In the heart of the Volcans d’Auvergne Nature Park, in the French department of Puy-de-Dome, the GR®30 trail crosses the volcanic regions of the Monts Dore, the Chaîne des Puys and the Cézallier.
This 198km itinerary takes 9 days to cover and features volcanoes, lakes and the built heritage of the villages of Auvergne.

You’ll walk along the impressive ridges of Sancy, from Col de la Croix Morand to Egliseneuve d’Entraigues via Super Besse, before returning to the rolling terrain of the vast Artense plateau below.

The GR® 4 trail crosses Sancy but not only! Stretching between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, the entire itinerary takes 2 months to cover. In Puy-de-Dôme, the section that crosses the department is 150km long and takes 8 days.
For a complete change of scene, spend 8 days hiking across the summer grazing pastures, between the lakes and peat bogs of the high plateaus of the Cézallier.
